Religious Ceremonies Of the Aztecs?
I am writing an Essay on Aztec Religion and Gods. So far for religion, i have a great intro, i have a paragraph, on the Gods and their Time, like their calenders and why their calender has this many months and days and all that. I now need to write about their religious ceremonies and festivals. I’m going to put in the thing about human sacrifices and why they did it, but i need more. How often did they celebrate? What else did they do besides cutting open someone and ripping their heart out? What where the dances called if they danced? Who danced? What did they sing if they sang? Any games played? I need to know quickly. THANKS!
In some ways they echoed the Zuni and Hopi ceremonies of today. You could search Shalako, Zuni, and Kachina for descriptions of some of the ceremonies.
