There are so many, even hundreds of ballrooms in the US and all over the world and let's face it they are a work of art. There has been a renewed enthusiasm in having weddings, and different significant functions in a luxurious ballroom dance art setting.

The Danceland Ballroom in Cedar Rapids is in all likelihood the best-known ballroom in Iowa and in 1957 it was the earliest ballroom to extend out to the teen population by booking the rock and roll band Bill Haley and the Comets. Darlowe Oleson, who owned five ballrooms and was regarded as Iowa's principal ballroom operator, owned the Danceland Ballroom, which carried on as an active ballroom right up till its demolition when it was replaced by the Cedar Rapids Five Seasons Center.

In Illinois, on Chicago's fantastic, Gold Coast you'll find the Germania Place, a landmark construction that had been designed in 1888 and was completely restored in 1994. This beautiful ballroom dance art building, contains two large ballrooms. The Grand and Royal ballrooms both display Victorian architecture, 35-foot ceilings, mahogany bars, crystal chandeliers, hardwood floors, 20 foot arched windows and inset, gilded domes. A masterwork of a stained glass portrait made in Germany and exhibited at the 1893 worlds fair adorns the foyer to the Grand Ballroom. A balcony big enough to hold 150 guests overlooks the Grand Ballroom. The Grand ballroom can provide up to 400 guests for dinner, the Royal Ballroom can comfortably seat an extra 250 and the two rooms can be incorporated by opening the double doors that separate the two.

In Columbus, Ohio the Grand Valley Dale Ballroom is important in as much as it is one of the last nationally acclaimed ballrooms left from the big band period. In the 30's and 40's big name entertainers like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby performed there. The Grand Valley Dale Ballroom has been enrolled into the National Register of Historical Places and has been completely renovated. The restoration involved the ballroom (which boasts a 2000sq foot wood dance floor), a circular art deco bar, double staircases, historic stage with velvet curtains, 13 chandeliers, columns, mezzanines, and an in-demand bridal parlor along with other developments.

The Charles Ballroom in the Charles hotel in Cambridge has been host to such special guests such as The Clintons, Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow. The hotel is furnished to a minimal style so the bride and groom are at liberty to decorate the wedding Ballroom Dance Art of their dreams. The 4700sq foot ballroom boasts dramatic double doors that open up to a room with floor to ceiling windows, displaying an internal courtyard and a view of the Charles River.

The Grand Ballroom in the Copley Plaza Hotel, Boston was formerly opened in 1912 and highlights Louis XIV style furnishings, crystal chandeliers, and gold leaf accents. The room has a huge dance area and a stage big enough for an orchestra. It has the capacity of holding up to 1,000 people.
