Semi-casual dress for a dance?

Heyy, so my school is having a semi-casual dance and most girls are expect to wear a dress that isn’t too fancy and isn’t a t shirt and jeans. I want to wear a simple dress that isn’t too fancy and isn’t too boring with probably some accessories like cute sandals and a necklace or something (: Since I’m a young teen I don’t really know where to get these stuff because most stores usually have stuff for little kids, meaning around ages 8 and under and then there’s stuff for the older teens who are usually 16 and up. There’s nothing really in the middle D: I shouldn’t make that big of a deal since it’s only a semi-casual dance but my friends want to see me in a dress and I want to look good while being in one… So any ideas?
